(NASHVILLE, TN) March 12, 2012 -- In 2011 Jenny & Tyler Somers, who make up the folk-pop duo Jenny & Tyler, made an impressive impact on critics and fans a like with the release of their poetic and musically eloquent album, Faint Not, and opened for artists Sara Groves and Audrey Assad on a national tour. With the release of Open Your Doors, which will be available April 3rd, the duo explores the journey of opening themselves to the Lord and finding true rest in Him, all the while skillfully merging their individual styles into a fresh and engaging sound. Open Your Doors will be available on iTunes, Amazon.com, and JennyandTylerMusic.com.
Produced by Mitch Dane (Jars of Clay, JJ Heller, Jonny Diaz) at Sputnik Studios, Open Your Doors marks the fourth release for the duo. They managed to share even deeper parts of themselves in honest and engaging ways, creating a cohesive story that builds song by song throughout the album.
"When we gathered the songs together we realized that we'd been struggling to find rest, and I mean true rest, for the past year," shares Jenny. "It's funny, as songwriters we often fail to realize what we're going through until we write songs about it. Our hope is that our story will encourage others and that the record will really resonate with those who listen to it."
Along with the release of their new album, Jenny & Tyler recorded a cover of Simon & Garfunkel's "The Sound Of Silence" which is now available on iTunes. All of the proceeds will go to organizations that fight human trafficking. One such organization is International Justice Mission. For more information, visit IJM.org.
In addition to the single, for a limited time they will be giving away Faint Not in its entirety plus three songs from Open Your Doors on noisetrade.com/jennyandtyler For more information on Jenny & Tyler, their upcoming shows and additional video, please visit www.jennyandtylermusic.com.
